A Crathco cold unit lives or dies on its refrigeration. When the cold plate or the R290 sealed system falls behind, the product drifts warm and the machine cannot hold a safe temperature. Push the control the other way and it over-freezes, caking a bubbler juice into ice against the bowl wall. We tune both ends of that range on D-series and Mini-Pro machines.

What we close on the truck.

Cold plate warm or over-freezing. When a Lafayette counter unit pours warm one week and freezes solid the next, the refrigeration control has slipped. We check the thermostat, the freeze timer on frozen models, and the cold plate contact so the barrel settles into the right range. Getting it to hold a steady temperature is the whole job on a cold dispenser.
Condenser and R290 sealed system. Tight bistro counters trap heat around the condenser, and a coil packed with dust cannot shed it. We clean the coil, pull the unit away from the wall for airflow, and verify the R290 charge and the compressor draw. If the sealed system needs opening, we handle the flammable refrigerant with the right tools and take the unit to the bench.
Faucet and valve leaks on the pour. A dispenser that drips at the spout after every pour usually has a tired faucet O-ring or a worn valve seat. We rebuild the faucet with fresh seals so it shuts clean, which keeps the small Mt Diablo Blvd counters from puddling in a spot where there is no room to mop around.
