Bay Area Refrigeration Service is run by Andrew Kuznetsov, who grew up in an engineering family in Ukraine and came to the United States as a refugee in 2019. He rebuilt his career from scratch in the San Francisco Bay Area in technical field service and founded the company in 2021.
Andrew has always preferred the wrench to the sales pitch. A refrigeration unit is a sealed system with a compressor, a metering device, evaporator and condenser coils, and a control board, and he reads it like one. Engineering instinct first, parts catalog second, no guesswork in the middle. Every call in the early years built into a service playbook we still run today.
We operate out of San Ramon, hold an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, and carry California state contractor and EPA refrigerant credentials in good standing. Andrew is a Manitowoc certified service technician, factory-trained on Indigo NXT, NEO undercounter, and QuietQube ice machines through the Manitowoc Ice and Koolaire Field Service Seminar in February 2026. He's also EPA 608 certified and R290 hydrocarbon (A3) trained for the newer units. We service Hoshizaki, Scotsman, True, Sub-Zero, and the rest as an independent shop.
Andrew is lead tech on most calls. When we send a second tech, it is one he trained personally on this playbook. No call center, no subcontractors. If you book Bay Area Refrigeration Service, that is who walks in.
