Refrigeration and ice repair in Alamo

Alamo doesn’t have a big restaurant row, but the coolers it does have can’t afford to sit dead. A plaza kitchen off Danville Boulevard with a reach-in full of prep. The deli case inside the Alamo Plaza grocery anchor. A bar pulling ice all evening from an undercounter machine. When one of those quits, the call usually starts the same way: it’s warming up and there’s product on the line.

We fix commercial refrigeration and ice machines across Alamo, and we stock the truck so most jobs close in one visit. We come up 680 from San Ramon, so it’s a short run.

What we see here

The gear skews mid-volume and well-kept. Reach-in coolers and freezers from True, Turbo Air, and Beverage-Air in the plaza kitchens. Prep tables and back-bar coolers. Undercounter ice machines, often Manitowoc NEO or Hoshizaki cubers, behind the bars and in the cafe. Some of the newer buildouts run Atosa units on R290 hydrocarbon refrigerant, which needs a tech trained for it. Failures here tend toward the usual suspects: condenser fan motors seized from dust, compressors short-cycling on a failed start component, door gaskets torn so the box can’t hold temp, evaporators iced over from a stuck defrost.

Alamo’s water is moderately hard, and that shows up on ice machines first. Scale builds on the evaporator plate, harvest gets sluggish, and cube weight drops before the machine quits outright. We clean and descale, check the water filter, and tell you straight whether you’re due for one.

Sub-Zero in the homes

The estate homes off Stone Valley and Round Hill run a lot of high-end built-in refrigeration: Sub-Zero column and side-by-side units, U-Line wine and beverage coolers. We service those too. Common ones are a Sub-Zero condenser fan or a magnetic door seal, and on the wine units a failed cooling deck.

We’re Manitowoc-certified (factory-trained to service Indigo NXT, NEO, and QuietQube), EPA-certified for refrigerant recovery (#1279674151528), and trained on R290 hydrocarbon systems. Sealed-system work, recovery, evacuation, and weigh-in are done in-house.
