Atosa in San Ramon
Atosa refrigeration in San Ramon.
We dispatch out of San Ramon, so this is the shortest drive we make. A lot of the cold-side work here runs through offices, Bishop Ranch cafeterias, the micro-markets tucked into the towers, and the restaurant row at City Center Bishop Ranch, and a good share of those newer kitchens run Atosa. When an Atosa prep table won't hold temp through a lunch rush at a working campus, it moves to the top of the list. We service Atosa as an independent shop, no dealer claims, just a crew that knows the platform.
Atosa is the cheap commercial workhorse, sitting under a True on build, so it fails a little earlier, but the repairs are usually simple: an evaporator fan motor, a stretched gasket, a clogged drain, a thermostat that won't hold. Common fixes are evaporator fan motors, defrost boards, condenser fan motors, and contactors, all stocked on the truck, so most calls close in one trip.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Prep tables that won't hold through a lunch rush. Atosa MGF prep tables in the City Center and Bishop Ranch kitchens won't hold temp through a lunch rush when the coil ices or the condensate drain clogs. We clear the iced evaporator, clean the coil, blow the drain line, drop in an inline screen, and check the rail temperature across the pans.
- Reach-in fans and gaskets. The MBF reach-ins die at the evaporator fan motor and the door gasket. A cafeteria leaning on the doors all day stretches the seal inside the first year and a half, warm air sneaks past, and the box ices over. We swap the gasket, clear the evaporator, replace the fan motor from truck stock, and check the seal through its full swing.
- R290 sealed-system work on Zone 7 water. A lot of the newer Atosa and undercounter units in these kitchens run R290 propane refrigerant, and we're trained on hydrocarbon refrigerant through Mainstream Engineering for them under EPA #1279674151528. San Ramon runs on Zone 7 water, and it's hard, so any Atosa undercounter ice scales fast on the evaporator and water lines. We descale and do sealed-system work in-house with recovery, evacuation, and weigh-in.

FAQ
Atosa in San Ramon questions, answered.
-
Do you service Atosa in San Ramon?
Yes, and it's the shortest drive we make. The City Center and Bishop Ranch kitchens run a lot of Atosa, and we service it as an independent shop, no authorization claimed. Most repairs run from $250 plus parts, a clogged drain from $200. -
Will San Ramon's Zone 7 water hurt my Atosa undercounter ice machine?
Yes. Zone 7 water is hard, so scale builds on the evaporator and water lines and slowly kills production. A descale and a fresh water filter usually bring it back. We'll tell you straight when it's scale versus a real part failure. -
My Atosa runs on propane refrigerant. Can you fix it?
Yes. R290 is propane, and we're trained through Mainstream Engineering and EPA 608 certified for it. The sealed system is handled in-house with recovery, evacuation, and a weighed-in charge. The $75 diagnostic is waived when you approve the repair, with a written quote first.
