Atosa in Hayward
Atosa refrigeration in Hayward.
Hayward cooks a lot of food at volume, and a good share of it runs Atosa. Downtown around B Street has the restaurants and bars, Mission Boulevard runs taquerias, carnicerias, and family kitchens holding product cold all day, and the newer spots opened on the cheap commercial line. When an Atosa prep table loses its rail or a reach-in warms up overnight, it's product on the line and a health inspector who doesn't care that you're busy. We service Atosa as an independent shop, no dealer claims.
Most of what we see on Atosa here is straightforward. The MGF prep tables lose temp in the rail when the coil ices, the MBF reach-ins fail at the evaporator fan or a worn gasket, and a stuck condensate drain backs up over the floor. We stock gaskets, fan motors, relays, and contactors on the truck, so a lot of Hayward calls close in one visit, and we push outages to the front.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Prep-table rails and drains. Atosa MGF prep tables in the Mission Boulevard taquerias lose temp in the rail because the evaporator iced over, and the condensate drain clogs with grease and cuttings until it backs up across the floor. We clear the iced coil, blow the drain line, and drop in an inline screen so the puddle doesn't come back next week.
- Reach-in fans and gaskets. The MBF reach-ins from a busy B Street kitchen die at the evaporator fan motor and the door gasket, worn from a thousand pulls a shift. Warm air sneaks past the failed seal and the box ices over. We swap the gasket, clear the evaporator, and check the seal through its full swing. Two fan-motor sizes ride on the truck.
- R290 sealed-system work. A lot of the hydrocarbon Atosa and modern undercounters common here run R290 propane refrigerant. We're HC(R290) trained and hold EPA #1279674151528, so leaks, dead compressors, and low charges get handled in-house with proper recovery, evacuation, and weigh-in. Hayward's water carries enough mineral that we check any undercounter ice plate for scale as well.

FAQ
Atosa in Hayward questions, answered.
-
Do you service Atosa for the taquerias and markets in Hayward?
Yes. The Mission Boulevard taquerias and carnicerias and the B Street kitchens run a lot of Atosa, and we service it as an independent shop, no authorization claimed. Most repairs run from $250 plus parts, a clogged drain from $200. We push outages to the front and reach Hayward same-day when the route allows. -
My Atosa runs on propane. Can you repair the sealed system?
Yes. That's R290, and we're HC(R290) trained and EPA 608 certified for it. We do leak repair and compressor work in-house with recovery, evacuation, and a weighed-in charge. If a shop told you they couldn't get parts, it was usually because they weren't set up for R290. -
Is the Atosa worth fixing or should I replace it?
Usually worth fixing, since the common failures are cheap fans, gaskets, and drains. If a part's discontinued or the repair doesn't pencil out, we tell you straight. The $75 diagnostic is waived when we do the repair, with a written quote first.
