U-Line in Millbrae
U-Line refrigeration in Millbrae.
Millbrae runs along El Camino Real just south of SFO, and its Broadway restaurant strip along with the larger houses climbing toward Hillsborough mean plenty of U-Line units in wine rooms, kitchens, and home bars. We service those here.
U-Line builds for undercounter luxury: wine captains, beverage centers, and clear ice makers that tuck under a counter or into a butler pantry. The coastal fog keeps Millbrae mild, but hard Peninsula water and tight built-in cabinets still wear on ice makers, gaskets, and condenser coils.
We come out from our San Ramon base, diagnose the unit, and give you a written quote before any work starts. The diagnostic is $75, and we waive it when you approve the repair.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Clear ice maker stalls or makes cloudy cubes. U-Line clear ice models such as the CLR2160 run a freeze cycle and then a harvest cycle. Hard Peninsula water leaves scale that clogs the water inlet valve and reservoir, so the machine stalls mid-cycle or drops cloudy cubes. We descale the system, test the inlet valve and thermistor, and clear the drain.
- Wine captain warm on one zone. Dual-zone captains like the 2275 series hold two setpoints off one compressor using a fan and damper. When the evaporator fan motor or a zone thermistor fails, the lower bottles sit warmer than the display reads. We test the fan, the thermistor resistance, and the control board before we quote parts.
- Beverage center drifting warm after a tight install. U-Line front-vents through the toe grille so it can sit fully built in. When the unit is packed under a counter and the condenser coil loads up with dust, the compressor runs hot and the cabinet climbs above setpoint. We pull and clean the condenser, check the fan, and confirm the grille has proper clearance.

FAQ
U-Line in Millbrae questions, answered.
-
How soon can you reach Millbrae from your San Ramon base?
We run from San Ramon down I-680 to Hayward, then across the San Mateo Bridge on Highway 92 to the Peninsula and north on 101 into Millbrae. Off peak that is about 45 minutes. We book a set arrival window so you are not waiting on us all afternoon, whether you are near Broadway or up in the Hillsborough hills. -
Do you charge to look at my U-Line?
We charge a $75 diagnostic. If you go ahead with the repair, we waive that $75. Either way you get a written quote before we order parts or start work, so there is no price surprise. -
Are you a U-Line authorized service center?
No. We are an independent shop and not factory-authorized by U-Line. Our techs are EPA 608 certified and we are licensed under CSLB #1136642, and we repair U-Line wine captains, beverage centers, and clear ice makers across Millbrae.
