Continental in Castro Valley
Continental refrigeration in Castro Valley.
Castro Valley is the quieter end of the East Bay, and most of the Continental gear we see sits along Castro Valley Boulevard or in the strip centers near BART. Family diners, a few taquerias and pho spots, the neighborhood markets. A warm reach-in is the same emergency here as anywhere: product on the line and a health inspector who doesn't care that you're small.
We work Continental as an independent shop and stock the truck with the parts that fail most, so a lot of Castro Valley calls close in one visit. Castro Valley sits on the same route as Hayward, so same-day on a real outage is usually doable.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Reach-ins drifting warm overnight. A common diner call is a Continental reach-in that's warm by morning, usually a failed start component, a dirty condenser, or a defrost heater or timer that quit and iced the coil. We carry start components, contactors, relays, fan motors, and defrost parts, so most of these finish the first trip.
- Prep-table rails sweating in the heat. The taquerias and pho spots run Continental prep tables that lose the rail on a hot afternoon when the coil ices over or the condenser's choked. We clean the coil, clear the ice, check the gasket, and get the rail holding below 41 again.
- Sealed-system and compressor work. On leaks and dead compressors we recover, evacuate, and weigh in the charge under EPA #1279674151528, and we're R290 trained for the newer self-contained boxes. Continental cabinets are heavy enough that a sealed-system rebuild usually pencils out against replacement.

FAQ
Continental in Castro Valley questions, answered.
-
Is Castro Valley too small for you to bother with?
Not at all. Castro Valley rides the same route as Hayward off our San Ramon base, so we run it regularly and can usually hit a real outage same-day. -
Does the local water affect my Continental reach-in?
Castro Valley's water is moderately hard, but that mostly shows up on ice machines as scale. On a Continental reach-in or prep table the failures are electrical and mechanical, fan motors, controls, gaskets, and condensers, not water. -
What does the service call cost?
The diagnostic is $75, waived when you have us do the repair, and you get a written quote before anything starts.
